A decade since the saga unfolded for the first time, S. S. Rajamouli is reviving his blockbuster franchise in a whole new avatar. The two-part saga—Bahubali: The Beginning, released in 2015, and Bahubali 2: The Conclusion, released in 2017—will be re-released as a single, remastered version titled Bahubali: The Epic on October 31, 2025.
But this isn't just a rerelease-it's a re-edit. Creators have refined and refined the film to tell the story as a unified experience. Here's what's new and what's missing:
What’s Been Changed
This new edition runs approximately 3 hours 43 minutes or 3 h 44 m, as opposed to the combined running time of the two separate films.
Bahubali: Removed Songs & Scenes

The song “Pacha Bottesina,” in Bahubali, featuring actress Tamannaah Bhatia, has been removed.
Even the song sequences like “Kannaa Nidurinchara” and “Irukku Pooku” are reported to have been chopped to streamline the narrative. Certain romantic subplots and extended scenes not central to the main plot have been trimmed.
Technical & Format Updates in Bahubali: The Epic
The movie has been digitally remastered and is being released in premium formats like IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema. It brings both halves of the story into a single-sitting experience, providing continuity and fresh emotional flow.
Why These Changes in Bahubali: The Epic Matter
The new cut carries several advantages for both fans and new viewers alike: The shorter runtime offers less intrusion and fast pacing, which is perfect for today's viewing preferences.
Cutting away non-core, "side" material releases the movie to its mythical roots and big-screen spectacle: Amarendra Baahubali's rise, Mahendra's revenge, and the throne struggle.
For those who experienced the originals on mobile or TV, this version promises a grander cinema experience: bigger visuals, seamless narrative, enhanced audio, and effects.
But this could hugely disappoint the audience who loved those touches or had built their special memories around them. It is a decision that reflects a trade-off: spectacle and pace over full completeness.
What's Next
When Bahubali: The Epic opens on October 31 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam, audiences will get to experience the saga in theatres once again, this time in one immersive shot. Whether you're a person who saw the original on opening night or a newbie to the franchise, this version offers the opportunity to see the story for the first time all over again.
